Special Educational Needs

 The Advisory Centre for Education (ACE) is an independent advice centre for parents, offering information about state education in England and Wales for 5-16-year-olds.

Early Support is for families with young disabled children. It is the Government’s recommended approach to co-ordinating services across England.

The Education Protects programme is jointly funded by the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills.

Inclusion offers a catalogue of resources to support individual learning needs for teaching professionals, parents, carers and learners.

Inclusive Science and SEN
These pages aim to facilitate the sharing of good practice and ideas relating science education for students with special educational needs. They display some of the findings from the research and networking that has been undertaken to support teachers.

IPSEA Tribunal Support Service is a volunteer-based organisation and many of the volunteers providing telephone advice and support at Tribunals are themselves parents of children with special educational needs who have been helped by IPSEA in the past.

National Association of Special Educational Needs (NASEN) is the leading organisation in the UK which aims to promote the education, training, advancement and development of all those with special educational needs.

Network 81 is a national network of parents working towards properly resourced education for children with SEN.

Parents for Inclusion is a charity set up by parents to help other parents so their disabled children can learn, make friends and have a voice in ordinary schools and throughout life.

SEN and Disability Tribunal for parents whose children have special educational needs can appeal to the Special Educational Needs & Disability Tribunal against decisions made by local education authorities (LEAs) in England and Wales about their children's education.
